Thursday, Mar. 11, 2004 - 9:29 p.m. Guest of HonorLast Sunday, I was the guest on the weekly radio show of Johnny Z, local anarcho-badboy. Johnny Z is perhaps the single most famous living anarchist, at least in the U.S., which in practice means that maybe 10 people listen to his radio show. Maybe more, but I dare not flatter myself. Anyway, I spent most of the show hyping Nonviolent Communication as the ultimate in anarchism, and concluded by plugging Marshall Rosenberg's upcoming appearance in Eugene. Johnny challenged me on a few points, to which my response was far less than eloquent. In my most pathetic moment, I was unable to think of one single non-authoritarian yet legal thing people could do, despite the fact that our very radio show could have served as an example of that. Then I spent a few minutes hyping complexity theory. This was my first time on the radio (except for the time I was an on-air caller on this same show last summer). It was kind of weird and kind of fun. I said "um" and "uh" about a million times, perhaps more than the number of words I spoke in English. When I figure out how, I'd like to turn my tape of the show into something downloadable for y'all. Against Morality - Sunday, May. 01, 2005
